Choosing the right glass

Create a safe and comfortable indoor space by selecting the right glass for your windows, doors and glass features. We will guide you through all available options to make the most of energy efficiency, safety and comfort requirements.

LAMINATED SAFETY GLASS

Maximise visibility and natural light while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Laminated safety glass is made up of two separate sheets of glass that are laminated together with a very thin bonding layer between them. If the glass is struck with enough force to break, the broken pieces adhere to the inner layer instead of falling to the ground keeping the sheet intact. By stopping the pieces falling and preventing an object from going straight through the glass the chance of injury is significantly reduced.

Laminated safety glass comes in various thicknesses starting at 6.38mm (consisting of two pieces of 3mm glass and a 0.38mm inner layer) right up to a total thickness of 12.38mm we will guide you as to which thickness is appropriate for your project.

TOUGHENED SAFETY GLASS

Maintain your style and design vision without compromising on safety

Toughened safety glass is regular sheet glass known in the industry as “float” that has been specially heat treated to exact temperatures and rapidly cooled, changing the stresses in the glass and increasing its strength in comparison to regular glass.
Toughened safety glass is the most commonly used glass in Australia.

LOW E GLASS

Reduce your heating and cooling costs while making the most of your natural light and views

Low E glass (low-emissivity) has a special coating that reduces the amount of infrared and ultraviolet light (heat) that passes through the glass without reducing the amount of visible light. It reflects your interior temperature back inside keeping your interior temperature stable and reducing the need for excessive heating or cooling.

Low E glass is beneficial for both hot and cold climates and allows you to make the most of your living spaces by reducing the need for window coverings.
